The PoliceWiki

Launched in April 2008, the PoliceWiki is a fan-run wiki dedicated to the band The Police and to the individual careers of band members Andy Summers, Sting, and Stewart Copeland. There is a small section on early member Henry Padovani as well.

As one of two head administrators (alongside owner and Wiki Wench of the West, Nicole Pellegrini), I am responsible for the wiki’s information architecture: organizing and categorizing the site’s content into a logical and comprehensive, yet user-friendly system. While most wikis are designed for a single band alone, the PoliceWiki is dedicated to documenting and archiving the many varied aspects of not only The Police as a whole, but of each individual band members’ solo efforts as well; as a result, the PoliceWiki continually faces the question of how to arrange, classify, and present information that often overlaps, conflicts, or defies easy classification.

The PoliceWiki is also home to unofficial Police historian Dietmar.
